Filming

Filming and film editing has been going well. Only problem is, this being my first experience of filming and editing that some of it doesn't work as well I would have liked.

One problem is that you can see me in the mirror more that I would have liked, because of the angles of the filming, some of the shots haven't worked quite so well.

An example of what I would like to do

This is a similar idea to what I had.
A short way into the video there's a section where the second guy is choosing what he would like to wear by looking in mirrors.

Idea change...

I've had a change of idea for my augmented project.

Upon reflection, I have decided that augmented tattoos piercings etc isn't very easy to implement. So I have thought of a new idea. This idea is to do with clothes, the idea is that you buy a wardrobe with a special mirror. You then save all of your clothes into the memory of the wardrobe, and when you want to get ready at any point you can chose the clothes you think might go together and see what they would look like without the effort of changing again and again.

I feel this idea is an improvement on my first idea, as my original idea was a mirror, but this idea works a lot better implementation wise. It also seems a bit more useful.

A new term a new project

After a brainstorming session, I have come up with a few things to guide me slightly.
I would be interested in involving film.
I would like to be able to show the change between realities.
Something to do with tattoos and piercings.

Putting all of this together I came up with the idea of a mirror. This mirror would have a menu with different tattoos and piercings, and would be able to show you what you would look like with them. This would be able to help you decide on what piercings or tattoos you might like to have.

The menu might be able to have some sort of touch screen interaction.

it's all done, although, we managed to forget a photo somehow. And typically the software was playing up which means that the pictures haven't come out right, so they look awful.

Will make another post when it's all put up online as atm I can't log onto my website server...

Well, all of the code is basically done, although we both don't really understand actionScript too well, so we could have used some loops and things to reduce the code, but we thought that as we've got it working now, we don't want to break it!

Flash is always a challenge, I would love to have some tutorials, I feel we have all been let down by not being taught ActionScript to the level that we are expected to use it.

I am very relieved to have got this far with it, and can't wait for it to be finnished! I need a pint... maybe 10! Can't wait for Christmas!
